Craft Schmaft Verdict

The Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 3D Printer is a great choice for beginners being compact and easy to use, loaded with a ton of automatic features to make 3D printing a breeze.

That being said, those looking to do manual upgrades and DIY updates to their printer should keep on shopping.

For those looking to ease into the craft, or make it a simple hobby, look no further.

“Plug and print” should be the official motto of the Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 3D printer; few printers are this easy to install or use, and that’s something Sindoh has picked up from their earlier days.

Believe it or not, this company has spent their previous efforts designing 2D printers for businesses. So, obviously, they know how to design a good working machine. But has their experience been brought to their 3D printer as well?

sindoh dp200 review

The Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 has been praised for delivering a good finish to any designs you print and for its ability to excellently maintain heat throughout the working process.

While the machine looks like a microwave that space captains might use to warm up a snack, it certainly doesn’t come across as gaudy. It’s exactly the kind of thing you want in your office space to impress your friends and family with.

Considering all these benefits, are there any cons to a printer that has managed to snag the Red Dot award?

Everything in life has its downsides, so we scanned this 3D printer for any flaws in its makeup.

Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 3D Printer: The Details

Specs

  • Weight: 44.8 pounds
  • Dimensions: 16.6″ x 16.9″ x 17.3″
  • Print Dimensions: 8.3″ x 7.9″ x 7.7″
  • Filament Types: PLA and ABS
  • Ready to Print?: Plug and Play
  • Warranty: Limited 90 day warranty for parts, while the main product enjoys a 1-year limited warranty

How Does It Work?

This 3D printer plays well with both PLA (or “polylactic acid”) and ABS or (“acrylonitrile butadiene styrene”). Both of these may sound scary, but they’re made of harmless materials.

PLA is loved for its versatile uses, is biodegradable, and is made of renewable resources. While ABS isn’t scoring that high on the nature-friendly chart, being made out of petroleum and natural gases, it does give an exquisite finish to anything you choose to print with it.

When you’ve selected your filament, all you need to do is pop in the cartridge. The printer then takes over all the manual labor other printers would require of you and gets started on your selected design. Remember to make an account on the manufacturer’s website for support and possible free prints.

If you’re making more than one design, the ‘keep warm’ mode cuts down on any new pre-heating time you might otherwise encounter.

Apart from making figurines – which is extremely fun to do, don’t get us wrong – you can also make items that are actually useful in your home.

Soap dishes, chopstick holders, bookends, replacements for missing game pieces… there’s a design for everything you can imagine, and if you take a look online, you’ll find a million more things that you never realized you wanted.

Accessories

As a beginner-friendly 3D printer, the Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 comes with just the essentials.

While you can purchase additional accessories when needed, the DIY enhancers are out of luck. As a relatively self-contained system, this printer doesn’t play well with upgrades.

  • DP200
  • Power Cable
  • USB/Firewire Cable
  • Filament Cartridge
  • Filament Scraper
  • Spare Clippers / Buttons for Extracting the Hotbed
  • USB Stick (contains detailed instruction manuals for the printer and slicing software)
  • North American purchasers receive a Closed Core for the Network Cable

Features

Medium Speed

While the Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 isn’t the fastest printer on the block, it still manages to be in the middle part of the spectrum.

Added to this is the handy pause feature, helping you to put a stop to things should they go awry.

These two features combined could just mean saving on a lot of filament. And since 3D printing takes a long time anyway, medium speed is still nothing to sneeze at.

Hot Printing Bed

The printing bed remains heated throughout the process and can be put on ‘standby’ for when you’re printing more than one item.

The heated bed also makes removing your finished product easier, and you’ll be less likely to damage the bottom by accident.

Automated Nozzle Cleaning

Nozzles can get clogged, leading to poor printing because your filament can only get out halfway at best.

With an automated cleaner, you’ll find your manual cleaning time to be lesser than you could imagine.

No matter how much you love 3D printing, cleaning a nozzle is still a chore we would like to put off forever if we could.

Keep Track of Your Prints from Anywhere

A really cool feature included with the Sindoh 3D Printer is its remote monitoring. 3D prints take some time, especially when you’re working on larger products that require several pieces.

best 3d printer

Sindoh knows sitting and waiting until a print isn’t ideal for everyone, so they’ve included a camera and LED lights in the printer that connects to an app so you can monitor your project from anywhere.

Simply set your project to print, and you don’t have to worry about standing by until it’s completed. After downloading the app, you’ll be able to keep an eye on your project from a variety of devices.

Full-Color LCD Screen

So it isn’t really necessary on a printer, but when you’re going 3D, you do want it to be cool.

So enjoy the upgraded feel of your 3D printer when you’re cruising around with a full-color LCD screen, which happens to be easy to navigate and also streamlines the printing process even more.

Intelligent Filament Use

The filament comes in a small case which can be easily loaded in your printer. But apart from the convenience, there’s also the detail on how your printer can read which type of filament you’re using and adjust accordingly.

At the same time, it can tell you which color it contains and how much you have left in that specific spool.

The Sindoh Printer also includes easy and convenient filament loading to make your experience painless.

No cutting, or fumbling around. Pop your filament in the cartridge and you’re good to go. When things are as easy as that, there really isn’t anything else left to say.

The Positives

Easy Set-Up

This printer probably has the least amount of loose parts in the box.

Because of the easy set-up, there’s no need for beginners to feel apprehensive about installing things the wrong way, and everyone can enjoy getting started without a hitch.

This makes it so much easier to get into a new hobby, and become accustomed to a new machine sooner.

Great Price/Quality

When you compare the price and the quality, there’s no other way to term this printer – it’s a steal.

You might not get the same amount of detail you’d find with a printer that costs several thousand dollars, but considering the cheap price, that really isn’t the issue here.

Enclosed Printing Space

While it looks like a really fancy microwave, this design is perfect for sealing in heat.

Less fluctuation in the temperature gives the filament a chance to better mold and settle, and the results are an even more impressive finish.

Having an enclosed 3D printer also makes it safer, especially if you’re working from home with kids around, or in a classroom environment.

Size and Design

You don’t have to be stuck with a ginormous machine to get started with 3D printing. The Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 is presented in a stylish and compact cube making it easy to sit in offices, homes, and small workspaces.

If you’re concerned about space, the Sindoh won’t let you down as you won’t need an ample amount of room to run it.

We’d say it’s easy to store thanks to its size, but given its trendy and elegant look, why would you? You can display this proudly.

Here’s what the printer looks like out of the box.

Warranty and Customer Support

Included with the purchase of your Sindoh 3DWOX is a 1-year warranty on the printer itself, and a 90-day warranty on its parts (including nozzles, print bed etc).

Keep in mind in order to benefit from this warranty, you’ll have to make sure you’re purchasing your 3D printer from an authorized seller like Amazon. If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to contact their customer service team.

Customers have raved about the service the Sindoh customer support team has provided, answering questions and solving problems as soon as they can. So not only will you be backed by a warranty, but by a great service as well.

The Negatives

Sindoh-Brand-Only Filament

The handy filament loading system does make this printer almost uniquely tailored for using Sindoh filament.

While more creative users have managed to ‘adapt’ other brands for this printer, there is no real guarantee this will work.

If you’re not a Handy Harry, you might be happier sticking with the house brand.

No Automated Bed Leveling

With all this convenient loading of filament and easy set-up, it’s strange that the bed is not levelled automatically.

Considering the printer tells you how to position the bed, it might have been a better feature to also include automatic levelling.

For those who don’t mind, at least you’ll be able to develop those bed-levelling skills.

Overall Verdict

With a good finish, easy filament handling, and an overall convenient user experience, there is little to nothing that can go wrong with the Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 3D Printer.

Most designs can be handled without issue and at a quality that belies the low price. The one drawback would be that you are locked into the Sindoh brand filaments.

This printer receives a warm recommendation for those who intend to keep 3D printing as a hobby or as a way of making office life a bit easier.

Only crafters who are looking to tinker with their purchases will be disappointed with this printer.

Where to Buy the Sindoh 3DWOX DP200 3D Printer
