Vintage: 70′s clingy pants suit

June 1, 2010

This patons crochet book from the 70s starts out innocently enough…

…but before you know it, BOOM!

“So you’re a girl, and you don’t mind who knows it. You wear these V neck culottes with their front zipper opening. “

“No man minds a woman wearing the pants when they’re like this!”

Well… um… I’m not so sure!

eeeek!!! they sure knew how to crochet in the 70′s ;) Nowadays the dress would look lovely over jeans, leggings or linen trousers, but there’s just nothing to be done for the (eek) pantsuit… ps as pants means undies in the UK this sounds decidedly iffy … thanks for uplifting Mondays!!

My man would have a DEFINITE problem with me in those pants.
Picture a vitawheat vegemite sandwich with the butter and vegemite oozing out the holes.
Now imagine my bum oozing out the crochet holes.
    Nobody needs to see that.
    Move along people!!!

LOL, I’m glad that second pattern has a high neck, one wouldn’t want to feel indecent.
And I totally thought you were making up the copy until I read it next to the photos too – what a scream!

Love that Zoolander look on the second model’s face. Move over Ben Stiller – it was done before!
