Sunday Stash: Liberty

August 30, 2009

This is called “The Strawberry Thief”, a pattern originally by William Morris and now done in many colourways by Liberty. A very good friend’s mum very generously gave me this piece -  she uses Liberty fabrics for collars on her polos for women (Kountry Blue) and it was the last little bit on the bolt. I was thinking it would make lovely owl wings, perhaps on a navy or midnight sock. This kind of pattern is not normally my cup of tea – I’m more a bold geometric pattern kinda girl, but the colours in this one caught my eye. Time to start stitching again methinks.
