Craft Schmaft

Lots of people that visited my Mathildas market stall commented… how on earth did you pull all this off with a day job and a toddler? Well the answer is simple. I get by with a lot of help from my friends.

I wanted to take a second to say thank you to each and every one of them. I really couldn’t have done it without you.Hopefully this doesn’t read like a teary Gwyneth Paltrow speech. If you want to fast forward there is a “what’s next?” paragraph at them bottom.

So THANK YOU to all the Bizness Babes girls who encouraged me to take the step of selling my patterns and kits- especially Alison, Joyce, Mel and Camilla who all tested the patterns for me (aren’t their owls gorgeous!) and Chrissy who’s neverending enthusiasm and words of wisdom are invaluable.

My high school friends Bec and Michelle (yep… we’re all still mates) who folded endless numbers of boxes with me. My amazing friend Zoe who has encouraged me every step of the way and even got up at the crack of dawn to help me set up at the market. My gorgeous sister Elly who not only entertained Oscar for me while I was stitching, she even dragged her boyfriend along to help pack everything up at the end of the day (he is slightly scarred by the babies/kids market experience but she thinks he’ll be OK).

And then there are all the people who came down to the market to make sure my stall wasn’t lonely. Let’s not forget my incredible hubby who has lived through Craft chaos for the past six weeks. He has the patience of a saint and… who knew the man could cook?

I am one very, very lucky girl to have all these people around me.

So what’s next?

Well I’m now madly working on pulling everything together for the Stitches and Craft show in Sydney end of August. I’m working on the pattern for another softie, the Little Sock Monster and the owl mobile. Stay tuned!
