Easter sock bunny

I’m still playing around with sock toys. Last week I went on a vintage craft book hunt at St Vinnies and found these amazing Women’s Weeekly books from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. I have to say that I LOVE the 60s stuff but the 80s have a LOT to answer for. It’s a bedazzled desert of crafting style peppered with cobalt interpretations of Australian native animals… uuuckkk!

Anyway, for this little bunny I decided to experiment with adding felt features rather than just relying on the sock shape itself… I kinda like it. Much more scope to play with the little face. I also added  feet, a technique which I found in a old book about sock dolls.

In other news, I went to Mathilda’s Market today in Lane Cove. Such beautiful handmade things for babies and kids. Actually it made me all clucky again looking at all the tiny onesies and newborn stuff.  I met the lovely Sophie from Her Heart, My Hands too – it’s so nice to meet bloggers in person! I can tell you the wares are as gorgeous in person as they are on her blog.
