Creativ-a-licious Cupcakes

This week I’m obsessed with cupcakes. Not eating them, although I have been known to do a fair bit of that, no, I’m obsessed with cupcake decoration. Oscar’s Christening is coming up and I’m planning on making a stand of cupcakes rather than a cake. So I started looking around the net for ideas and all I can say is… wow! I had no idea that there were so many talented people going crazy on the cuppies.
So for Oscar I’ve planned a combination of fairy cakes (vintage recipe, my mum is making these), chocolate with red ribbon ties and vanilla with blue cream cheese icing and red boats bobbing about on top. I saw these ones on Martha Stewart and flickr and had a vision of little red origami sailboats bobbing on blue waves. The whole colour theme will be blue, red, white and chocolate. I’m very excited (how sad!) and have already ordered this red paper to go on top.
