Winging it’s way to me is the much talked about Sock and Glove and I can hardly contain my excitement! I’ve gotten so excited that I’m even thinking of setting myself a project for the new year. I’m used to doing a lot of creative thinking with my time (I was a digital creative director before I had Oscar) and I really miss coming up with ideas. A blank sheet of paper, a pen and endless possibilities.
Actually that’s a lie.
My mind has been mush for the past six weeks but as Bubba starts to almost sleep through the night I can feel the fog lifting. Thoughts of what to do next are starting to crop up all over the place.
So with the imminent arrival of Sock and Glove, I’m considering a project called “Around the World in 80 Toys”. Starting right here in Manly, Sydney I’m embarking on a toy journey around the world. At each stopover I’ll create a sock softy inspired by that place. It’s a way to re-live my travels from home, keep my mind active and give my crafting a theme.
What do you think? Good idea?

I think the new year is as good a time as any to get started. I’ll get packing, pick out a route and we’ll be ready to set sail! Stay tuned, I’ll update in the next couple of days.

I just found your wonderful site. I am a 59 year old grandmother of 2 boys and 1 girl with another grandchild on the way. You have excellent goodies.
